EN795

Dispositivos de ancoragem

The classes A, B, D, and E are fully covered by the PPE directive 89/686. The EN 795 is a type approval. Type approval is granted to a product that has been tested by a Notified Body and satisfies the minimum requirements set in the standard. For example, class A of the norm indicates that an installed product must withhold a person of 100kg falling 2.5 meters and a static force of 10 kN for 3 minutes. The type approval is product related and does not consider the installation. Therefore, the installation has to be done by competent people with the right fittings. The installation procedure and the attachment to the constructions are not part of the PPE directive. It is the supplier/installer who determines if the strength of the attachment to the construction is sufficient. That can be done with a tripod pulling apparatus in accordance to EN795 (applying a pulling force of 500kg for 15 sec). The norm EN795 only consider diverse types of anchors at the moment of sell. Elements and components of a line system in the class C belong to the PPE directive and also to others like the construction products directive. Hütter Safety keeps a technical installation file with all the information regarding the installation of the fall arrest products. The file contains information about the situation before installation, supplied material, fittings, water tightness, results of the fixation tests etc. At completion the customer receives a project completion document and a certificate with information about installed material and a declaration of conformity with applicable standards. It is important that the supplied and installed products are inspected annually by a competent person like a fall arrest inspector.
